‘Paint Your City Walls’ Campaign
Date : Sunday, 17 March 2019
Venue : Sarvodaya Enclave, New Delhi
If you visit Sarvodaya Enclave in New Delhi, you would witness dazzling and colorful walls with beautiful and lively images drawn on them and which have made the entire colony come alive. These walls were dilapidated structures a few days back and the magic happened on Sunday-17th March when volunteers of the NGO Parvaah came together to revamp these walls and the dhobi sheds in the residential colony.
The team of 86 volunteers, comprising of school children, was headed by Vansh, Chirayu and Adhiraj. They reached the venue at around 9 am and started working on the worn out walls. After cleaning these walls and drawing catching, attractive artwork on them they moved on to the dhobi sheds. And once the work was over, both the walls and the sheds were a sight to behold.
What was heartwarming about this painting drive organized by Parvaah was that apart from the children and their parents, the residents of Sarvodaya Enclave also participated in it in large numbers. Thus the event was an astounding success in every sense of word.
The wholehearted involvement and participation of the colony resident in the painting event is an indication that they consider that the walls, dhobi sheds and the entire colony belong to them and keep it clean and beautiful. Such has been the impact of this campaign organized by Parvaah; it has made the entire Sarvodaya Enclave come together for a social cause.
Paint Your City Walls Campaign
We, at Parvaah, believe that it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to keep our cities/towns clean. To this end, we organize our “Paint Your City Walls” Campaign frequently in Jaipur, the Pink City of India. Our volunteers, comprised of school students, have been instrumental in planning, initiating and carrying out our wall painting drives. They carry brushes, paint containers, paint buckets and other supplies and paint old, stained walls and those lying in deplorable conditions. By painting walls with beautiful colours and drawing eye-catching, attractive images on them, our young volunteers express their artistic sensibilities and at the same time, by taking part in these events, they derive the satisfaction of doing their own bit for the society.
